Bar Sur Mer Add to a List
FlintCreek Cattle Co. Add to a List chef Eric Donnelly's highly anticipated tapas bar, inspired by a trip to San Sebastian, is set to open sometime this week. You can look forward to a seafood-focused menu of small plates, plus Spanish wines, sparkling wine, and jamon iberico.

Pipa Mountain Hot Pot Add to a List
There's a new place in town for plunging thinly sliced meats and veggies into a simmering cauldron of broth. This Sichuanese hot pot spot soft opened in Chinatown-International District in mid-June and uses high quality meat and locally sourced produce.

Casablanca Express Add to a List
Capitol Hill Seattle reports that Abdel-haq “Hawk” Asfour, owner of the Hawk Dogs hot dog stand, plans to open this "Moroccan Mediterranean" restaurant as early as next week, possibly even by the Fourth of July. The restaurant will open in a space previously intended for the Comet Tavern Add to a List 's expansion.

Driftwood Add to a List
Married couple Dan and Jackie Mallahan, who have both worked at Michelin-starred restaurants, plan to debut this ambitious, hyper-local spot on Alki Beach this summer. The spot will partner with the Quinault Nation and Makah Tribe to source its seafood.

Glo's Add to a List
Capitol Hill's favorite purveyor of eggs Benedict is going through a rough patch. The diner, which already had plans to move into a new location Add to a List inside Capitol Hill Station as early as this fall, suffered damage from a fire at 2:30 am on Monday and is closed indefinitely for repairs. A "Glow Up" crowdfunding campaign to help the business has already raised $305,275 of its $350,000 goal.

Missing diver identified as Mukilteo chef
A diver who was reported missing near the Lighthouse Park near Mukilteo on June 17 has been identified as Hans Korompis, the influential director of the Market restaurants in Edmonds and downtown Seattle. The Seattle restaurant community is grieving the loss of Korompis, who ran a Hainanese chicken pop-up called Han’s Chicken Rice and was the creator of Market's wildly popular lobster roll Add to a List . A GoFundMe memorial page has been created to raise funds for Korompis's family.

Eater names The Chicken Supply one of the best places for fried chicken in America

This week, Eater named Greenwood's up-and-coming Filipino fried chicken joint The Chicken Supply Add to a List one of 27 restaurants serving the best fried chicken in America. Eater Seattle editor Jade Yamazaki Stewart wrote, "Raised among the food cultures of the Philippines and the Pacific Northwest, chef Paolo Campbell wanted to open a Filipino fried chicken restaurant for years while working in Seattle fine dining. That dream became reality at the Chicken Supply. Gluten-free, soy-marinated wings, drumsticks, thighs, and 10-inch cylinders of breast meat on sticks pop with the puffy, crisp texture of Rice Krispies. Alongside, Campbell serves twists on family recipes, like soy-marinated vegetables or cold pancit with seared cabbage and pickled celery."

Shota Nakajima leaves Cle Elum teriyaki restaurant
Taku Add to a List chef Shota Nakajima is no longer a part of the Cle Elum teriyaki restaurant Banzai Teriyaki Add to a List . Details about why Nakajima left the project are currently unknown. The Top Chef fan favorite broke the news on Instagram last week, writing, "I absolutely have nothing but love for the community who came together for this project and gave it life, attention, and support. The natural beauty of Cle Elum doesn’t stop at just the surroundings, and I am lucky to have met some incredible people in my time out there while learning and growing from this process. I’ve got some exciting news coming up soon, so keep your eyes peeled here for more from me and my team!
