The local chain Boxer Ramen, which was forced to close its five locations due to the pandemic, has reopened after almost two years under the new name "Boxer," according to a press release. The menu has expanded to include sushi, sake, and cocktails in addition to ramen.

Concourse Coffee Like Add to a List
Deadstock Coffee Like Add to a List owner Ian Williams opened this new sibling location at the end of January, serving drinks like the "Lebronald Palmer" (a coffee-lemonade combo) and hibiscus tea lemonade. And it's already set to host some exciting members of the food cart world: The Vietnamese soul food cart Matta Like Add to a List is moving to the spot at the end of the month, followed by the up-and-coming Filipino cart Baon Kainan Like Add to a List (which we included in our 2021 restaurant highlights Like Add to a List ) in early March.

HomePort Pizza Like Add to a List
Owners Maria Hart and Steve Baird opened this Neapolitan-style pizza cart in the Gresham Food Carts Like Add to a List pod at the end of January. Offerings include margherita, cheese, pepperoni, spicy sausage with mushrooms, "Golden Crown" (garlic aioli sauce, fresh mozzarella, mushrooms, and fresh basil), and one rotating monthly special (currently a sweet onion veggie pizza). The cart also serves provolone-topped garlic strips with red marinara sauce for dipping, as well as a sweet s'mores pizza for dessert.

Kobe Sushi & Ramen Like Add to a List
This sushi chain with locations in Washington and Oregon recently soft-opened its first Portland outpost. Besides sushi, the spot also offers fried rice, bento boxes, fried gyoza, yakisoba, donburi bowls, ramen, and pad Thai.

Mi Cava & Cocina Like Add to a List
Earlier this month, Rafael and Olga Mora, who own a number of Mexican restaurants around Oregon, teamed up with Olga's cousin Ezequiel Gutierrez to debut their first Portland restaurant, a seafood-focused Latin American spot. The menu features dishes such as fresh black mussels, ceviche, steamed clams, tacos al pastor, carne asada, and wagyu burgers, plus beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails like tamarindo mules and smoky mezcal palomas.

Workers Tap Like Add to a List
Portland now has a worker-owned and -operated bar where labor organizers can gather to discuss strategies over a pint. The pub features 20 local craft beers and ciders on tap, plus a small library of socialist texts and a basement meeting space that groups can reserve for free.

Akadi Like Add to a List and House of Flavor Like Add to a List
Rejoice: Portland's acclaimed West African restaurant Akadi Like Add to a List , which has been on hiatus for over a year, is reopening with an expanded menu in a new, bigger space at 1001 SE Division St. on May 8. Better yet, chef and owner Fatou Ouattara is also opening a new grocery store called House of Flavor on April 22, with locally grown African fruits and vegetables, house spice blends, house-made sauces, and other ingredients, plus African beer and wine. The upcoming shop will also play its own original videos educating visitors on how to use the ingredients.

The local deli chain is closing its Kruse Way location in Lake Oswego today after 17 years of business, but fear not: It'll reopen a big location in the Lake Grove neighborhood soon.

Hair of the Dog Brewing Company Like Add to a List
After nearly 30 years, the trailblazing craft brewery known for its unique barrel-aged beers will close. Owner and founder Alan Sprints announced on Facebook on Valentine's Day that he is retiring and that he will keep the taproom open until sometime this summer to release his last beers and sell the remaining inventory.

Modern Times Like Add to a List
It's a sad week for craft beer lovers: Also on Valentine's Day, the San Diego-based brewery Modern Times announced it will close four satellite locations, including its Belmont Fermentorium, by the end of the week, due to the financial impact of COVID-19.

Sisters of the Road Cafe Like Add to a List
This nonprofit cafe providing food for those in need is currently closed. Executive director Dara Snyder told Street Roots that the closure is not permanent but said that the organization is "going through a challenging time and taking a strategic pause" to ensure it can reopen in a "sustainable and supported way." A reopening date has not been announced.

World's largest fork comes to Fairview
On Tuesday, the city of Fairview welcomed a gigantic fork that, at 37 feet tall, will break Springfield, Missouri's current record for the largest fork in the world (34 feet). The fork is part of an upcoming food cart pod called the Fairview Food Plaza coming in April and is awaiting an official inspection by a Guinness World Records keeper.

The Portland Craft Beer Festival returns
After a two-year hiatus, the Portland Craft Beer Festival Like Add to a List is making a triumphant return in 2022. The festivities will include plenty of craft beer from local brewers, plus cider, wine, spritzes, beer/cider slushies, table tennis, cornhole, hula hoops, giant Jenga and Connect Four, and more.

Prime your liver for Zwickelmania, the annual event where more than 120 breweries open their doors for your drinking pleasure, with free samples, tastings, meet-the-brewer events, pairings, tours, and beer releases. Jackie's Like Add to a List
In honor of Black History Month, the self-described "bar with sports" Jackie's is teaming up with local addiction counselor Denise Williams (also known as the mother of Deadstock Coffee Like Add to a List  owner Ian Williams) to offer her famous "trap cake," a butterscotch pound cake with molasses whipped cream and brûléed orange. All of the proceeds from the cake sales will fund free counseling for low-income community members in need.
