The Portland food scene is enjoying an embarrassment of riches this week, from the arrival of the much-anticipated dumpling chain Dough Zone to the openings of two new bakeries. In other news, Canard is expanding to Oregon City, Akadi is returning soon, and Radar bids farewell. Bee's Custom Cakes Add to a List
Chef and owner Rebecca "Bee" Powazek is hosting the grand opening of this brick-and-mortar bakery today and tomorrow. Cakes range from funfetti rainbow chip to orange poppyseed to carrot with coconut and pineapple. Plus, if you correctly guess the amount of cookies in the cookie jar on the counter, you could win free Thornton Family Coffee Roasters coffee for a month.

The Burnside Whiskey Bar Add to a List
The local spirits producer Eastside Distilling Add to a List opened this whiskey bar inside Moda Center on April 2.

Just in time for spring, this pastel dream of a pâtisserie from pastry chef and former La Rose Patisserie owner Dan Bian opened on April 3, serving mango-passionfruit macarons, raspberry-rose croissants, strawberry-yuzu cakes, and other romantic confections.

Creative Culture Add to a List
Owner Dell Ann Upp will host the grand opening Add to a List of this unique new "family-friendly DIY craft studio, plant bar, and gourmet milkshake bar" in Sullivan's Gulch this Saturday, with activities like pottery painting and wreath making and over-the-top shakes in flavors like "Hello Lovely" (strawberry cheesecake topped with a strawberry Pop Tart and a pizzelle) and "Local Love" (cookie dough topped with a cupcake and a chocolate chip cookie).

Dough Zone Add to a List
Rejoice: Washington's rapidly expanding dumpling destination Dough Zone plans to open its highly anticipated Portland location in the former River Space event venue on Monday. The restaurant is known for its juicy xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and signature "q-bao" (pan-fried steamed buns).

Maeve Add to a List
According to a press release, this late-night coffee and wine bar opened in the Sellwood-Moreland area on April 14 and will host its grand opening party Add to a List from 4-8 pm tomorrow. Guests at the opening will receive a free glass of sparkling wine to celebrate. The business will focus on organic and biodynamic wine and will serve crepes, Nossa Familia coffee, vegan pastries from Shoofly, soup and bread from Pizzeria Stellina Add to a List , and charcuterie boards from Cowbell.

Akadi Add to a List
Portland's acclaimed West African restaurant Akadi Add to a List , which has been on hiatus for over a year, is set to reopen with an expanded menu in a new, bigger space at 1001 SE Division St. on May 8. Reservations are now available, so book a spot ASAP if you want to be there for the grand opening. Takeout and delivery will also be available beginning on May 9.

Gabriel Rucker and Andy Fortgang's smash-hit cafe and wine restaurant Canard Add to a List is about to hit the suburbs: The spot plans to expand to Oregon City this summer.

This romantic North Mississippi restaurant known for its tapas and cocktails revealed on Instagram last week that it is closing permanently today. The announcement reads, "After 10 years of business, we have decided to let Radar peacefully sail into the sunset...We know this news is bittersweet, but all good things must come to an end. And Radar is a very good thing."
