Chef/owner Jessie Smith, who took over the bakery Bushel & Peck in 2020 and has been transitioning into reopening it as St. Beatrix, is hosting an official grand opening this weekend, according to a press release. The bakery space sports a fresh interior redesign inspired by films like Chocolat, Beetlejuice, Amélie, The Royal Tenenbaums, and the 1989 Batman and will reopen for indoor seating on Saturday. Smith also plans to offer cake counter classes and aims for the spot to function as a community hub for the LGBTQ+ community, with pop-ups, fundraisers, and a retail corner for products from local businesses.
