Baerlic Brewing Company
Last November, this "stubbornly independent" brewery, named for an Old English word meaning "of barley," teamed up with Ranch Pizza Like Add to a List to open a super-spacious 6,000-foot indoor beer garden at their original location in southeast Portland. Their Rose City Park location, home to the Barley Pod, hosts an array of great carts, including Bull Run Pizza, La Arepa, Hapa, Poblano Pepper, Bam Pow, Namu, Yaba Yabaa Falafel, Eat Well, Flew the Coop, and The Dark Side Thai. This week, Baerlic unveiled its third location Like Add to a List , a new taproom and beer garden on Northeast Alberta Street.

Belmont Station Like Add to a List

Ecliptic Brewing Like Add to a List and The Moon Room Like Add to a List
Well-known beer industry veteran John Harris's Ecliptic Brewing takes its inspiration from his dual-themed passions for beer and astronomy, with seasonal menus and beer releases that reflect the earth's journey around the sun. The brewery also opened its highly anticipated second location Like Add to a List , The Moon Room, in the former space of Base Camp Brewing Like Add to a List earlier this month. The new outpost features over 30 taps as well as a food cart serving hot sandwiches, soups, and salads, with vegan options available.

Ex Novo Brewing
Welcome to Portland, where even drinking beer is a selflessly woke act. Okay, you can’t exactly write off a pint of Eliot IPA on your taxes, but Ex Novo Brewing does partner with local and national nonprofit organizations to make sure their own profits are put to good use. Recent partners have included Friends of the Children, the International Justice Mission, Impact NW, and MercyCorps. Headed to watch any of Portland’s sports teams, or a show at the Rose Garden? Horse Brass Pub Like Add to a List
Portland beer culture would be nothing without Don Younger, a beer drinker’s beer drinker and adviser to the OGs of Portland craft brewing. Even though he’s moved on to the smoking section of that great taphouse in the sky, his legacy lives on in the nearly limitless beer list at Portland’s favorite English pub, the world-famous Horse Brass. Imperial Taproom & Bottle Shop Like Add to a List
A welcoming new hangout in the former Wild Oats building, and a worthwhile addition to the almost incomprehensibly huge eating and drinking scene on SE Division, Imperial Bottle Shop offers a wide selection of taps and bottles for in-store drinking—check out the whirlpool chiller—or taking home. Level Beer
This brewery's name comes from its focus on brewing "subtle, balanced, and traditional beers," along with a variety of New World ales and lagers. Level also opened its third location, aptly named Level 3 Like Add to a List , inside the former See See KTM Like Add to a List space in mid-October, with over 20 beers on tap, a collection of retro arcade games, and an outdoor patio.

Little Beast Brewing
The titular "little beasts" at this small-batch, family-owned brewery, which specializes in mixed-culture fermentation and fruited, wild and wood-aged beers, are the helpful bacteria that play an important role in the fermentation process. The brewery recently opened a second location in Clackamas and now hosts the Kansas City-style barbecue joint Lawless Barbecue Like Add to a List , which slings delightful hardwood-smoked meats.

Loyal Legion
This popular beer hall celebrates Portland's craft beer scene by showcasing over 50 to 99 beers on draft, with "a tap system that rivals a NASA program." It also recently opened Like Add to a List a second location in the historic Beaverton Bank building on Beaverton's "Restaurant Row."

Prost! Like Add to a List and Stammtisch Like Add to a List
Prost! is an excellent German bar with a rowdy clientele of mid-20s golfer-class kids. But Portland needed a grown-up beer bar, too, and luckily Prost! owner Dan Hart opened Stammtisch. Steeplejack Brewing Like Add to a List
Steeplejack Brewing opened its stunning debut brewpub inside a painstakingly renovated 110-year-old church (formerly Metropolitan Community Church) in Sullivan's Gulch last summer, with stained glass, pew seats, and reclaimed wood tables. Besides unique beers like cask-conditioned ales, the spot also boasts a menu of comfort food like baked mac and cheese, chile verde pork tacos, buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches, and smash burgers, plus Caffe Vita coffee and pastries from Bee's Cakes Like Add to a List .

Upright Brewing Like Add to a List
Among the recent developments of Portland's craft beer scene are local brewers’ embrace of Belgian farmhouse brewing traditions and sour beers. Upright Brewing names their farmhouse-style beers by number; both Four and Five are great saisons that are dangerously drinkable, and also keep your eye out for their draft-only Engelberg Pilsner. This lauded brewery specializes in lagers, hoppy ales, mixed-culture fermentation, and special releases. Executive chef Jesse Moore heads up the kitchen, which serves "elevated American pub fare" like hand-tossed pizzas, sandwiches, pretzels, and poutine, with house-smoked proteins.
