Kickstand Comedy has reprised its hugely popular Comedy in the Park series in Laurelhurst Park, so grab your pals with a sense of humor to catch chill comedy from Adam Pasi, Deborah Wooten-Williams, Elena C. In celebration of the Portland Mermaid Festival Like Add to a List , Clinton Street Theater's week of mermaid-themed screenings draws to a close with this showing of cult fin-flapping horror flick Erzulie, which tells the tale of a fearsome bayou mermaid in a Louisiana swamp. Una the Mermaid will be on site for a water nymph meet and greet before the movie, and film writer and producer Christine Chen will sign movie posters. You might score some mermaid swag, too!

Each Friday for the rest of July, local musicians will battle it out for a chance to headline at ilani’s Muze Lounge along with a $5,000 cash prize. The Moor of Venice is slowly ruined by the vengeful Iago in the Bard's classic tragedy. Beat the heat inside the museum and check out Salem-based artist April Waters's Water-Ice-Sky, Antarctica, a frosty exhibition of paintings from her trip to Antarctica as a grantee of the National Science Foundation Antarctic Artists and Writers Program. (We're cooling down already.) The artist's studies and sketches of the Marr Glacier led to this series of works, which illustrate the unusual beauty of a landscape in the midst of climate crisis.

Like most students, PNCA's Low Residency MFA in Visual Studies candidates have been through a lot over the last few years. Their exhibition series, Every Corner is Alive, considers this cultural moment of grief and uncertainty through an expansive environmental lens. Stashia Cabral, Élan Chardin, Laura Jean Foster, Amy Gibson, Ondrea Levey, Kelly Marshall, lynn ruth stephens, Devon Pardue, Jenny Wilde, and Ahuva S. Zaslavsky ponder and cultivate embodied, shared environments in a wide range of mediums. Each week, a new solo exhibition or exhibition series will be installed, so pop by throughout the summer for a fresh dose of inspiration.

Kelli Connell: Double Life, 20 Years Like Add to a List
Kelli Connell's images are surprisingly tricky—they appear to depict two women in a relationship, but are actually digitally manipulated images of the same model doubled. With a focus on the layered, fluid nature of selfhood, Connell's long-term photographic project Double Life, 20 Years creates believable stories pulled from everyday situations, inviting the viewer to consider their own dualities and complex inner worlds.
